Agri-Export Dynamics: South America Leads over US Gulf
Today, we analyse historical AIS vessel movement data from AXSMarine. This analysis demonstrates the annual monthly comparison of bulk corn and soybean exports from ports in the US Gulf and East Coast South America. The data includes all vessel sizes and ages involved in international trade, covering the period from 2018 to 2023. Additionally, we present a cumulative annual monthly comparison of these metrics.
As of 2023, the cumulative bulk corn and soybean port loadings in the US Gulf represent 81.73% of their average from the past five years (2018-2022), from January to November, totaling 49.59 million metric tonnes. In contrast, the 2023 bulk corn and soybean port loadings on the East Coast of South America stand at 118.9% of their average over the same period, totaling 172.54 million metric tonnes.
